This month will be a very difficult month for me. I am in the process of mending a broken heart, I am living on my own for the first time, and I feel like I am heading in a completely new direction. October is all about growth for me, and these are the books currently drawing my attention!
I’d love to know what you’re reading this month or any books you’ve read recently that have either a) given you another perspective or b) helped you grow. Please feel free to share below in the comments!
1. The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment – Eckhart Tolle
With over two million copies sold and translated to over 30 languages, this book must be life changing. The Power of Now takes readers on an inspiring spiritual journey to find their true and deepest self and reach the ultimate in personal growth and spirituality. I am excited to dive in.
2. The Night Circus – Erin Morgenstern
I adore a good fantasy book, and this fantasy is dark. This circus arrives without warning, and only at night. Celia and Marco are young magicians who have been trained their whole lives for a duel. But what they do not know is there is only one survivor. They fall madly in love, and leave the lives of everyone in the balance.
3. The Dark Between Stars: Poems – Atticus
I am a huge fan of Atticus, and I have his first book, Love Her Wild! I absolutely loved it! In his second book, he captures the highest highs and the lowest lows, such as the infectious beginning of a relationship, the tumultuous realities of commitment, and agonizing nostalgia of being alone again. That last part sums up what I am going through at the moment, and I can’t wait to get lost in the pages (and probably shed many tears!)
4. The Sun and Her Flowers – Rupi Kaur
I was told that this poetry book would speak directly to me from a close friend! As I am experiencing uncertainty, loss, and I may be heading in a new direction, I am hoping that this book speaks directly to my soul in my time of change, and give me some guidance.
5. How to Get Sh*t Done: Why Women Need to Stop Doing Everything so They Can Achieve Anything – Erin Falconer
I always feel like I have SO MUCH to do that I never actually get anything done! I need to read, workout, meditate, prepare meals, build my side hustle… this book shows you how to zero in on three areas of your life that you wish to excel, then offload, or just not give a damn about the rest. AMEN SISTER!
